Steering binding at extreme end of travel

My '94 Grand Cherokee, 8 cyl, seems to have a problem when turning the steering almost to the extreme right or left turn. There has always been some roughness at the very end of the travel, but that roughness (binding, clunking) seems to happen a bit earlier in the extreme turn scenario now. Any thoughts?

What size tires you runnin'?? Maybe getting some tire rub??

If it is a Quadratrac it could be possible the four wheel drive is binding a little.

If it's fulltime 4wd your viscous coupling in the transfer case could be on its way out. Or time for a fluid change in the transfer case at a minimum.
