stabilizer install problem

My Skyjacker stabilizer instalation is not going right. It seems like it is toolong of a shock. It is the kind that you mount to the draglink, not the replacement kind. Where exactly on the draglink does the bracket go? Which way does the bracket face? It seems like it will bind when I turn right.

I have it installed on my TJ i can take a picture but i don't know how to post it

do you have an imagestation account? cardomain? If so just use that as a host. Or if you have AIM let me know you name

Man, thanks for the help, but I guess the TJ's have a completely setup. I think I may have figured it out although it still looks a little awkward. Oh well, maybe when Joopin comes on, he'll be able to tell me. Thanks again LGR! Bryan

#$%@&&! York install!

Hey bryanjeep, what you gotta do first is figure out the travel on the stabilizer... I think its 8 inches. Anyway, take the travel and split it in half and set the stablizer at that measurement and thats when you figure out where it mounts to the drag link. When I installed mine, the bracket on the drag link was at the end of the drag link bar, almost at the tightening nut for the tie rod end. Do you have a single or dual? The reason I ask is the bracket differs on each... but it most likely mounts to the front of the drag link. As long as you measure out half of the travel it won't bind up... let me know if you have any questions.

I'll email you a picture of my set up, I think I have one on my computer.

Hey Joopin, thanks. I have the single. I think I have it on there right now. Mine is also all the way to the nut that tightens the link. The bracket for the stabilizer that attathces to the drag link is awkward. It was hard to get it straight. I think it should be fine the way I have it.

PS I really wanted the dual setup, but I wasn't sure if it was going to work on my SOA later. But from what you have told me in the past it works.

I will try to get pics when I get the camera back.

I had the same problems with the bracket on the drag link... what I did was lengthen the holes for the ubolts, that way I could twist the bracket so it is parallel with the frame rail. It makes a big difference.

That is exactly what I need to do. What did you cut it with? Drill bit?

Yeah, I drilled another hole infront of the slot then cut off the remaining bur of metal with a jig saw. Finished it off with a file.
