Speakers for Tuffy Security Box

I have recently installed a pair of Tuffy #020 speaker and security boxes in my 95 YJ. I have had a hard time finding any 6x9 speakers that will fit up flush to the interior of the speaker section. Most of the speakers that I have looked at have horns or micro speakers sticking out past the mounting flange. Putting any spacers between the box and the speaker will cause the magnet to ride on the inside speaker barrier.

Anybody have any suggestions?:???:

Those pictures do a great job of describing your problem, but I can't think of a set of compact 6x9s that would work. I'll do some research when I get home tonight.

If I can't find any flush mount speakers for a reasonable price, I will have to cut out the grill, mount a surface speaker grill and build some guards over them to keep them from getting damaged.

Another issue is the total depth of the speaker. Can't remember the max depth dimension right now. Will check it out later and let you know.
