Soldering Speaker Wire

I'm putting in a couple of Alpine 5 1/4" speakers for the soundbar on my TJ. Problem, I can't seem to track down the proper size quick-connects for the speaker terminals. They use a .205, and a odd size .110 female connectors. Anyone ever solder their speaker wires directly to the terminals? Is it difficult? Or will it mess anything up? Or does anyone know of a supplier of this kind of stuff? Been to Ace, Schucks, Crutchfield, etc. No luck. Thanks!

Try Radio Shack. If not, soldering the wires to the speaker terminals isn't a bad choice. Make sure you follow the rules in soldering wires. Use a flux core NOT and acid core solder. The thinner, the better. Tin your wires before you solder the 2 joints together and don't lay on the terminals too long as it may damage the speaker coil. And last but not the least, Make sure you got the polarities in the correct order.

Yeah, I hit the old Radio Shack too. No luck! I can only find these stoopid .110 on the internet. Problem being, I don't need 100 of them, or 1 @ $6.99 to ship. Craziness. Lol.

Thanks for the tip on the terminals. I didn't know that could happen.
