OK.. I am going to try and describe this the best I can.. I hope that you guys and gals can understand what I am asking:
A couple of months ago I replaced the battery in my 95 YJ. I was having serious problems with corrosion, thus a build-up of an acidic substance on and around my battery terminals.
The other day while doing some work under my hood I noticed that there was two small black hoses made of hard plastic that had been completely severed in the middle. When I crawled underneith the Jeep to inspect closer, I saw that they were very brittle in the area immediately around where they had come apart. I concluded that the acid buildup around my battery had somehow gotten onto these hoses, and corroded them so badly that they severed.
These hoses are approximately the same size as a 12 guage wire.
These hoses run from the front differential, all the way to what I figure to be the area above my transmission.
What is the best way to go about repairing/replacing these hoses?
I have been having issues lately with my 4WD not engaging, and I am assuming that this is directly related to the above described problem.
THANK YOU!
