Can I put a slip yoke eleminator kit and cv drive shaft on a jeep with only a 1in. taller body mount kit. I plan on getting my suspension lift in spring ,but wanted to do the slip yoke and drive shaft now. :-D [addsig]

I don't see why you couldn't but you might have to have the driveshaft lengthened when you lift. Also you will have to change your axle perches because with the cv driveshaft your rear pinion has to point directly at the tcase output. When you lift you will have to change the angle which means you will have to relocate the perches again. If it was me I would probaby wait to do it when you get the suspension lift that way you can deal with the perches then and just once and won't have to lengthen the rear driveshaft.[addsig]

yeah im with ray0vac, if you're going to lift it in the future dont waiste your money on a new driveshaft now, w/out the lift its just not neccesary and wouldnt be practical to spend the money twice, im not sure about the perches i didnt have to move any on my YJ

Quik

www.4xshaft.com makes an AWESOME driveshaft[addsig]

I have never heard anything about those axle perches being moved. Can somebody explain more about it. My buddy just put a RR 6in. lift on his TJ and I don't think he had to mess with them, I'll ask him.

Well supposedly you are supposed to point your pinion right at the Tcase output for the correct angle for the cv driveshaft...I think you can run it without doing that but that is just what I have read and heard.[addsig]

pointing your pinion will GREATLY reduce wear on your universal joint.... the only drawback to this is that the pinion gets starved for oil... so when you fill it the diff, lift the rear so the fill hole is higher[addsig]

Well from what i have heard i wont have to mess w/ the spring perches. I also have the lift alredy so i think i will get the lift put on and then see if the driveline has really bad vibes and then decide. Thanks for the help and advice.[addsig]

How did you put in the nv4500 without doing an Slip yoke
eliminator? Did you shorten the driveshaft? The NV4500
is 1.5 inches longer than the stock NV3550 which would
bring you driveshaft to a length of 9.5 inches. WAY
TOO SHORT! Id do the sye swap as soon as possible.
you will break the t-case output. Whoever sold you
the nv4500 swap should be shot since they didnt tell
you about that.

Straightening pinion angles on tj's is easy. Get upper
adjustable controller arms then open them up until
the pinion is pointed right at the t-case or until the vibes
are gone.[addsig]
