Should I buy a rebuilt Transmission

So my synchro rings in 2nd have been pretty gone for a long time and 3rd is on its way out, I have been quoted for 1500 give or take a hundred for a rebuild. On ebay ive found completely rebuilt ax5 transmissions( i have a 2.5 95' YJ) with a 1 year warranty between 650 and 750. Is there anything thats better about rebuilding my own trans or swapping out with a new one. Thanks for the help

Not knowing what all the bearings, thrust washers, gears and all the other components that may require replacement due to wear and failure in your old trans., will be the determining factor for me IMO. I follow the Chrysler way, 70% of what it would cost to rebuild Vs the price for a replacement with warranty, i will take the rebuilt one and scrutinize it with a fine tooth comb during the warranty period.
