This was passed on to me buy a good friend. I beleive its worth our interest.

Time to shop at SEARS!!!

I assume you have all see the reports about how
Sears is treating its reservist employees who are
called up? By law, they are required to hold their
jobs open and available, but nothing more.
Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits
as a result of being called up... Sears is voluntarily
paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all
benefits, including medical insurance and bonus
programs, for all called up reservist employees for
up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary
corporate citizen and should be recognized for its
contribution.

I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a
manager to tell them why we are there so the
company gets the positive reinforcement it well
deserves.

Pass it on.

So I decided to check it out before I sent it
forward. I sent the following email to the
Sears Customer Service Department:

I received this email and I would like to know if it is true. If it is,
the Internet may have just become one very good source of
advertisement for your store. I know I would go out of my way to
buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item
even if it was cheaper at the other store.
Here is their answer to my email......................

Dear Customer:

Thank you for contacting Sears.

The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears
regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men
and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they
bear at this time.

Please pass this on to all your friends, Sears needs to be recognized for
this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans, we do
appreciate what they are doing for our military.

hell yes, sears is the best. good thing i got one near by me. More stores and companies should do things like that, brave men and women are going out to serve for the country, there service effects us all. god bless them troops.

Sear's is good! Strong like Bull, Smart and Savy! Be a Sears man! You too will be Good Smart and Savy! hehehe All Kidding aside Sears has been a Main Stay of America for so many years and we should respect and support them when ever possible. tug

Thanks for the info!

That is great to see that some corporations are upholding their social responsibilities. A raritey in today's society no doubt!

The company I work (Verizon) for has the same policy. Some of it is a result of our Union contract, but some of it is not in the contract and is voluntary.

These tires good/bad

Darnit, I just bought a ciruclar saw yesterday from Home Depot...woulda went to Sears if I read this first (I almost did anyway). :? Regardless, there's more stuff I'll need and I'll be sure to spend more money at Sears in support of their policy.

Not that I ever really needed a reason to buy something at Sears. But it is great to see companies taking care of their employees.

I love Sears! We go to Home Depot because it is so easy to find what I need and closer but not anymore for the big purchases. I bought a John Deere weed eater with a blower attachment a couple of years ago from the Depot. I went in this summer to get parts for a tune up and maybe get the tiller attachment and they don't carry them anymore. :x Plus, the dude was rude about it. So now I have to go to the trouble of finding it elsewhere or ordering online.

At least I know that Sears will continue to carry Craftsman lawn mowers, tools etc. We've always bought all of our appliances at Sears and now they sell Lands End clothing. Too cool.

Rebuild 258 and put a 4.0 head or put in a 4.0 complete?

Hi,

I hate going to home depot, and usually try to always go to Lowe's or Sears instead. Though I go to Home Depot only to buy fluorescent lamps, as they are the only store around here who carries Philips and TCP lighting products (which are excellent brands) at good prices.
