shocks

need a little help the shocks i have now are extended as far as they can go i have about 4.5 in. of lift on 96 xj looking to order some but don't want to get some that are not going to work i'm looking for something that will allow me to have as much flex as i can get would i be able to order some for a 5 or 6 in. lift and still be able to bolt them up without a problems :???:

You would take the chance of bottoming them out when you compress the suspension. Measure full droop and compression with the shocks disconnected and order by those measurements.

Do you have stock shocks on your Jeep, or are you running shocks for 4.5 inches of lift?

You should be able to find a good deal in the vendor section (especially at this time of year). Give them a ring and tell them what you are looking for.

i am running skyjacker shocks right now and i am pretty sure they are for the 4.5 lift i bought it like it is but i can tell that the shocks are to short

don't want to sound stupid but wouldn't that just get me the same size shocks that i have now or am i misunderstanding you
