i have been reading on the stroker mods for the 6s and i see that you ahve to use the 4.0l harmonic balance. you have to have the nose of the crank machines or buy a spacer. well, i see that the 4.0l uses a serpentine belt and my 4.2 uses a serpentine also. is it possible the harmonic balance will bolt on since both use a serpentine or no?
i am planning on going fuel injection some time in the future but running the weber 34 for now as i buy stuff to tinker as time goes by. if i can swing using the harmonic balance from the 4.0 with a carb for now, that would be cool but if i have to machine the crank i will just stick with my normal one for now.
also, i was told my jeep had the block swapped from a 4.0. the intake and exhaust are the ones that would be on it from the factory in 87, there is no mistaking those. the valve cover is aluminum and has three funny bolt holes in the top, like where the throttle/cruise cables are held down on a cherokee 4.0. can someone tell me what to check to tell for sure if i have a 4.2 block or a 4.0
