ok, ive found a pair of scout 44s with detroits, and 3.73, and have seriously thought about buying them and hangin 'em under the jeep. the only prob is ive read that the front axle needs to have out-board springs mounted on the side of the frame, and a shackel reversel.... anyone tried this.... bounty any suggs???[addsig]

Not much experience with the 5's, but I'm guessing you'll need outriggers for the spring hangers to fit the springs on the wider axle. Not too hard if you can weld and use gussetts correctly.

Remember that D44 fronts from a Scout have 0* caster, not a good thing. You have to cut the knuckles and rotate them to get the pinion angle correct and get negative caster so it can be safely driven on the road.[addsig]
