ok, so I'm driving a 97 TJ with a 2 inch suspension lift. right now I'm running 31X10.50's but I'd like to upgrade to 32x12.50s. I was wondering if the 2" lift is enough to clear the bigger tires, and what the optimum backspacing would be for wheels on this set up. thanks for any info. [addsig]

you could probably squeeze 32's in with a 2 inch lift, but you will have almost no suspension travel. The wheels will be right up inside the fender wells and you will most likely have some rubbing when you make sharper turns. if you want 32's I would add a 1 or 2 inch body lift (bout 80 bucks), and your jeep will not only look better, but it will also have better travel and no rubbing. I'm not sure about the backspacing.[addsig]

i have a 97 TJ with 32/11.50's with a 3 inch lift......that is just right for the 32's.....good travel, looks great[addsig]

Heres the standard..stock 15x8 jeep rims....+22mm offset ( think offset dont think backspacing...they're related anyway)...

Aftermarket 15x8 rims...such as welds, AR, AE, etc...-22mm offset....

Aftermarket 15x10 rims ( mine that I run 33x12.50x15) -44 offset same brands

Since I dont know your wheel your running now and whether you'd want 15x8 or 15x10 aftermarkets....you can put a 12.50 wide tire on both....with the 15x8 your have more sidewall protection.....15X10 and the 12.50 you'd have that fatter more rectangular rolling look to your tire...a less sidewall protection and more ON road traction....

32x12.50x15 would look great on either WIDTH tire...33x12.50x15 on 15x10 is my favorite though bc your higher with the 33'sso you want more lateral compensation with the 10inch wide tire.

Personally Id say you could go with the 15x8 aftermarket wheel with -22 offset....your not that high ( 32's on a total 3 inchs of lift ) to need the extra 4 total inches of the 15x10s ( plus you save Moo-laa=$$$ on your rims)

well, I'm currently running 15x8 stock aluminums. I'd like to replace them with either black rockcrawlers or black AREs. I'm looking for a good balance of on and off road performance. this thing's my daily driver so I don't want to sacrifice much in terms of wear and on-road performance. when I do have it off road, it's just trail type riding, no heavy duty rock crawling or anything.

I'm not sure what to do about the lift. I hate the look of body lifts. I'd like to swap out the suspension lift with something a bit bigger (I bought it with the current lift) but I'm still debating that.

thanks for the suggestions though guys. helps a lot.

oh yeah, does anyone else have traction issues in the rain with BFG ATs? I'm forever fishtailing around town.[addsig]
