rookie question: remove t-case & still operate

i'm a rookie, thanks for your patience

recently bought my first jeep...'82 CJ 7

working through the list of priorities. currently the transfer case works but leaks. i figure a seal kit is necessary...wont know about overhaul until i get in there.

i dont have a ton of time to work on it. was wondering if possible to remove t-case and still drive the jeep in 2H? would be nice to take my time with t-case and not give up the jeep during the process.

Sorry but no. The t.case transmits the torque from the engine to the axles on the front and rear. Kinda like you cant exist if your head was attached to your hip while the doctor worked on your body.

my bad...i thought it only transferred to the front axle.

but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night ...
