Howdy peeps... just doing some work on my jeep and i relized that my belts are looking kinda worn out. I would like to replace them myself, but i'm not exactly sure about where to start.
Anybody have a write up on basic belt replacement on a basic 258 without AC and with power steering?

I figure this would also be a good time to thing about upgrading the alternator too  [addsig]

I never seen a write up on belts. But you basically loosen the bolts and nuts on the Alt and power steering pump. Then you should be able to move the Alt and pump one way or the other and that will loosen up the belts to get them off. Then you can slip them over the fan if you still have a mechanical fan.[addsig]

just make sure you bring your old belts with you when you get new ones. some yj's came with v-belts and sepertine mixed. others (like mine) just had v-belts. my parts dealer's computer only showed the serpetine belt. so i had a lot of trial and error[addsig]
