Refurbishment Complete...Bitter-Sweet Sale!!

More good news and bitter-sweet news. The good news is my refurbishment was finally completed a while back. Other news is that while I really love the Jeep , and since the refurbishment was barely done for two weeks I concluded that I would like to sell her to a good home. Why you ask???

I originally ordered the refurb with the intention of keeping the Jeep indefinitely...then I realized over the past few months that I might only keep it for about a year, give or take, as I realized that I would want to take on an aggresive business investment within that timeframe. As it turns out, the opportunity has availed itself much earlier than I expected, so after much consternation (shortly before the refurbishment was completed) I decided to go ahead and move the sale to sooner rather than later, provided that I get a reasonable price for it.

While I'd ideally prefer to have my cake and eat it too, the sale is not completely bitter but rather bitter-sweet as I'm looking forward to a substantial business investment with a buddy so I'm selling my CJ and a few extra toys. For one, I have a really nice YJ that I use as a daily driver that I'll hang on to so I'll still be Jeeping it...just not double Jeeping it.

With that in mind, I would like to find my baby a good home. It was appraised at $17,500 and I just listed it on eBay at :

i'm surprised to see you're from alpharetta... when i was in like 5th grade my best friend (female, not girlfriend tho) moved down there. her family is still there... her name is debra burns, dad's name is larry burns... i don't suppose you know them?...

oh, and btw, i stole the last pic you had (of the exhaust and body lift) for my powerpoint presentation for my graduation project at school. i needed picture to show what a body lift was... and i got it! nice... not many people show the body lifts' spacers in pictures i've found.[addsig]

Sorry to see the baby has to go. who did the work on the jeep? I live in alphartetta also and use a few different people around to buy parts and do work on my YJ. I need somebody who is more consistent than the people I have been dealing with. Seems that some people are more interested in playing patty cake with snot nosed 17 year olds who just got a TJ from there parents, than guys who are truely in to the sport. Sory for the rant. If I hear of anyone looking in the area I will steer them your way.

Hey Tug, my infidelities are beginning to show but choosing between my CJ and my YJ, I always knew I'd keep the YJ...so I guess that's the decision I came to. I got my '95 YJ off the showroom floor...one of the last YJ's to roll off the assembly line...and we've been through a lot since. I did a 5-state search to find her since I couldn't order (they had already stopped production of YJ's), and we've been through multiple incidents to include accidentally driving off a 8-10' sand dune at Pismo Beach, CA, broadsiding a drunk driver (luckily no injuries), 3 cross-country trips, etc. etc.

My YJ is by no means stock and is definintely trail ready...I used to take it off road a lot but I haven't done it as much recently. The only thing it doesn't have is a winch and lockers (I had seriously considered ARB's at one point but never did anything due to the steep price). Anyway, while definitely trail worthy, its designed to also be street usable on a regular basis. The short list includes 4" suspension lift and 1" shackle lift, 33" tires, Rancho 9000 shocks with remote, dual batteries, 2 sets of PIAA off-road lights, and some pretty nice tunes. I also did a lot of the work on my YJ myself. The short story is, I may still come up to TN in my YJ...I just realized my obsession with toys was beginning to interfere with my more lofty long-term goals. The YJ stays though.

Dingus, no problem with the pics. If you need any other pics that I can help you out with just let me know. The reserve is currently set at $15K. Thanks for the offer to jack it up...but please be modest, I want to see what the market actually values it at in the event the reserve isn't met. [addsig]
