Rear Window

The passenger side rear window on our 04 Grand Cherokee just slid down today while driving. We had parked on an incline so I think the kids slammed it too hard.
Has anyone ever had this problem?
Just wondering if its a common problem with these vehicles to give me something to look for.

Read through some older posts and found that there is a small plastic piece that routinely breaks off..... Checked and sure enough that is what it is.
Will replace the regulator tomorrow.....

You MAY NOT have to replace the ENTIRE window regulator! On the 2000-2004 Jeep Cherokee what usually BREAKS is the plastic cable block-this releases the cable and the window slides down! (Not an example of Chrysler's FINEST ENGR.!!) There are a few companies out there - that NOW manufacture-- a. SOLID Aluminum Block -- that. REPLACES the PART molded into the Slide! This Aluminum Block is much more ROBUST --- and is NOT prone to breaking LIKE the Chrysler OEM part! My suggestion would be to UPGRADE and go with the ALUM. Part. There are a few Companies out there that -MFG. This UPGRADED Part. (Digital Tuning Etc). You can find them on the Internet -- I think the part is under $40 Bucks? Good Luck! JB

I had already ordered a new regulator before I read your post but I appreciate the information. apparently it's a common problem for Cherokees.
However, Changing out the regulator and motor was pretty simple, anyone can do it if I did. Took about an hour
