radio works intermittantly

Greetings

My stock radio in my TJ is acting funny. Number one if its hot which it is in Texas the display doesnt even come on nor will the radio work. If its in the morning and cool it works but if I hit a good bump (most Texas roads are beat up asphalt) it shuts off. I am planning on just leaving the stock radio and getting one of those Tuffy overhead mounts and putting in a new unit one day but I am just curious about this radio's goofy behavior.

Pull the radio partways out with the electrical connectors attached to it. Wiggle the wires slowly and see if you could duplicate the concern. If it shuts off, the problem is most likely to be in the connector for a loose pin.
