question about tube bumper

i was looking that the dubble tube front bumper (dont remember who makes it) with the hoop deal that looks something like a grill guard. Anyway, i was wondering if this hoop would have the same protective effect of a real grill guard or is it more for cosmetic effect? thanx for the input[addsig]

Probably going to need a link to the bumper you're talking about. The hoop may be there to protect a winch. Usually stuff like that is for cosmetic purposes in my opinion though.[addsig]
