question about a motor i found

ok guys im going to make it a better attemp to read this.. i got a 88 cherokee laredo it has an automatic transmission in it. i just found a 4.0 straight 6 motor but its coming out of a 94 grand Cherokee Laredo.. it also had an automatic in it, and i wass wondering will this motor fit up to my auto transmission and bolt right up?? let me know THANKS

Double-check the size of the pilot bushing between the two trannies, otherwise it will bolt up. The heads are different as yours is a Renix engine and the other is a HO. Google jeep 4.0 head swap and you will find the differences.

You're probably going to run into problems with electronic stuff. IE, getting all your gauges and things like that to work. Also, you're gonna need a computer for that 94 engine.

If you do run in an issue with the PCM, Mopar offers a Generic PCM for Different applications.

I'd suggest running just the '94 block and head, keeping everything else off your '88. I think you'll have to block a coolant passage on the HO head to use your '88 Manifolds, and use some large washers to support the intake manifold as it sits higher on the HO head.

ok well i was just scouting around i can get the computer for it but now you said something about the intake manifold can i use a differ manifold?? and what would be the best one? also is it bad if i had to block a coolant passage?
