Was high centered with the rear tires on the ground, I engaged the Emergency switch in the glovebox and I couldn't get rear tires to spin? How can I tell if system is actually working or engaged, Is there supposed to be a light on counsole that shows it's engaged? Where do I start? The system is supposed to lock front and rear togather thru the transfer case right? The significant other wasn't very impressed, all she did was smile and watch me dig. Help! 8-) [addsig]

You can usually tell when it´s working right, by turning the wheel on pavement. You get kind of a slide and climb feeling on the outside tire, in a turn.
If both of your rears where on the ground, you should have gotten some movement. Got to remember, four wheel drive, is actually two wheel drive (with open diffs), one front wheel and one rear, whichever has the least traction. One front wheel in the air and one rear wheel in the air and you arn´t going anywhere, even with a locked transfer, (unless you apply a little parking brake, a trick people tend to forget).
To tell you the truth, I never had any problem, out of my Quadra-trak except an occasional chain stretching. But at a guess, I´d say there has to be a vacumn line connecting to the transfer somewhere (havn´t worked on a quadra-trak for 15 years). With the motor running and the switch in the glove box in the lock position, disconnect the line from the transfer and put your finger over the end to check for vacumn. I did have one of the vacumn lines, become disconnected behind the glove box (after installing a radio).
