Propane on a 258.

I am thinking about doing a propane conversion on a 258. The engine needs a little freshing up so I had considered boosting the cr since the propane has higher octane. But I have heard that you have about 10% power loss, so I have thought about boosting it as well. Nothing big just a small turbo pushing 6-8 pounds of boost. Anyone ever convert a 258 to propane and or turbo one?

If you run proper compression and camshaft you will gain 3-4% power over fuel. The 10% loss comes from an engine with low compression and crappy cam. You need around 10-1 comp for propane and a nice dual pattern cam.

Thanks, I knew that I would have to run higher compression but I didnt know that it would be that high. Cool. What would be the best way to bump it up? Domed pistons, lower deck hight, both. What about boosting it too?
