Parts?

New Jeep Girl

New member
Okay so again I am new and I just found out that even though I take my doors off I still need mirrors. SO I have been told to get some relocation brackets. Should I shop online, go to a dealership, or buy from a 4X4 store (closest one being about an hour away)? I also want to get something to lift the hard top off the jeep and store it lifted in my garage. Any ideas, advice, favorite places to buy, maybe even free shipping. I have a 2004. Also might there be anything else I need to purchase before I get a ticket?

THANKS!

Support your local shop if you can. If that's not an option do the internet. Please don't go to the dealership unless it's an emergency. They will rip you off in a ridiculous way.

There are systems out there for lifting the hardtop like you stated. However, one can be made from parts available at your local home improvement store.
You could use a hand crank boat winch with the locking sprag against the gear so that you can suspend the top. You would also want some stout screw in hooks, a few pulleys and some high grade rope or the wire rope.
Whether you make your own or buy one, make sure you mount the pulleys and hand winch to wall/ceiling studs. Sheet rock alone will not hold.

You can get a cheap ($10) replacement mirror at your local auto parts store. They sell one that has an arm on it, and you can just drop a bolt through the end of the arm and into your door hinge. Works well for a buddy of mine.

I bought a set of mirrors from a HD morotcycle shop. The threaded end thru the hinge holes. Easy to remove when you have to put doors back on.

Hey,
I returned your PM. One thing I didn't include was the name of the hardtop hoist I dont have. A good one is made by Lange. They are around $150 I think. Hope that helps.
