Anyone know how well Pacesetter headers and/or TFX Kat Backs work?

http://www.pacesetterexhaust.com

The headers are less expensive than what I have seen,(Borla et.) but they have a wierd "route". Instead of being routed behind the engine/below the transmission like stock, (and everyone else) the go arount the FRONT of the oilpan. then straight back to the cat and so on..

pluses, minuses, any input?

BTW: 87 YJ 4.2

RE: Forum Rules and Guidelines -- Why?

When my header did the famous leak routine, I went the PaceSetter route. Yeah, they are cheaper then the others but I have no complaints.

I liked the routing in front of the oil pan and haven't noticed any ill effects. First time I had to pull the oil pan figured I would see a little baking going on but it wasn't the case. Nothing unusual found.

So, @65K miles/5yrs on it and I like them. They do rust up fast but only surface stuff (paint if you want to). Still nice and solid, no leaks and I enjoy the sound as a side bonus.

Good luck.

I just put on the TFX Exuast on my 95 YJ. Like it alot good sound and tip fits perfect and looks great. I'm going to be putting headers on later this year so let me know how the install went and how they worked out for you.

I just finished my tfx cat back install last week. It looks nice and fits perfect. As for sound it is not realy much diffrent than my old rusty stock exhaust. Kind of quite. Not that I am complaining. Got mine for $159 delivered. I am satisfied with it.

RE: Will This Fit?

Tucking the exhaust pipe up high in front of the oilpan sump is the way to go, helps keep it out of harms way. The TJ's stock exhaust is routed this way, and it's how I had my new YJ exhaust built. I had smashed my stock YJ pipe because it was routed under the bellhousing, not a good spot when wheelin.

RE: SPOOL LOCKER?/ 3/4-1 ton axles

ive ripped my exhaust off so many times and i took it to the friendly cheap exhasut shop to get it fixed like the tj's are and they told me it would heat up the oil too much. i was just like w/e patch it up and give it back ill do it myself you dummies.
