Oil pressure question

Hello everyone!!!
Got a question reguarding my oil pressure.
My oil pressure gauge is really erratic. It'll be running normal---
then it'll pin and stay there even when i'm decelerating. Engine seems to be running fine though. Any info would be great. Thanks

Hi,

Sounds like a bad connection between the oil pressure sending unit (near oil filter) and the dash gauge. When a gauge pegs, it's usually because it has lost grounding to it's signal wire, but is still being given 12v through it's power wire.

A bad oil pressure sender could also be the culprit...
