oil pan on a 87 cherokee

is it possible to pull the oil pan off of a 87 cherokee without pulling the motor??
i finally got my jeep running pretty nice but it is getting any oil to the top end except for on 2 rocker arms so i know it is getting oil pressure but i am affraid that the screen on the pump is plugged, oh yeah by the way it was a penzoil motor if that tells you anything or if anyone has any ideas how to get some of the sludge out of it with out pulling the pan?????? all help will be greatly appreciated

Yes, i believe so. I had a shop replace my oil pan gasket (If I had had the time, I probably would've done it myself), and they didn't remove the engine. [addsig]
