oil,oil,everywhere in the airbox...

yes, i know this question has been asked a few times before. engine is a 4.0 i-6, i have replaced both hoses from the valve cover to 1) the airbox and 2)the intake port on the manifold. the only part i didn't replace was the grommet at the back end of the v.c. i'v read a dozen of the forum entries on this problem and believe i have cleared the blockages. is there any other thoughts on this. jeep is a 1991. i did replace the rear tube with a 1/4 inch tube and fitting from the v.c. to match the port on the intake.

The line from the valve cover to the airbox, have you pulled it at the airbox to make sure it has sufficient vacuum pulling into the valve cover?

87 4.0 did the same thing. I bought the little vacuum/ vent line from v/c to air box and it came with the grommets to go in the v/c. from advance auto for about 7 bucks if I remember. According to what I read the grommet itself is often the problem as it is rubber and sometimes swells up to block the vacuum.

sorry I meant the Vacuum line from the v/c to the intake manifold. Everything I read said to make sure and change the grommet itself as that can also be the culprit. But luckily they both came as a unit so there was no need to buy both separately.
