Oil Fill cap Leak

I've got oil that seaps out from the oil fill cap on my 80 CJ7 258. Metal Valve Cover. I did put on a new non-vented cap- but it started leaking too. I'm not sure about the amount of blow-by. Does not appear to be a problem- no oil in breather and oil stick staying put. Is a leak in the oil fill cap a common problem? How can I stop this leak? This is my only oil leak- engine has 115K. my first guess is that the oil cap's gasket is dried out and tired. a replacement cap is less than 5 bucks, might as well replace it. if that doesn't fix you up, its gotta be in your PCV system... too much backpressure forcing the oil/crap to work its way out of the fill hole...[addsig]
