Offroad Tips

Hey guys. After having my Jeep for about two months now, I have finally gotten it really dirty.:) I live in Buffalo, and there are NO trails around. Well, today I found something, not a trail at all, more a muddy hill that I happened to pass. Me and my buddy were going to get something to eat so i turned around and it looked cool. I thought about it for a minute, looked at my buddy, and put it in drive. he wasn't very sure about it, but i was like, its a jeep, and said somethin stupid about life:lol: i did it and it was awesome, my whole jeep is muddy and it looks sweet. Anyway, sorry for saying such a boring story, but after getting stuck a couple times, i realized i know absolutely nothing about offroad other than i want to do it, thats why i bought a jeep. So before i find any actual trails, any tips out there for new jeepers. thanks, oh yeah, and now my parent's are gonna wonder why they have a muddy jeep sittin in their driveway:?| especially cuz i didn't leave the house til 10:30 on the way to get some food.

My best tip is to make sure you have permission to wheel where you go, otherwise it hurts the image of this sport.

Secondly, use 4wd before you need it, 4hi for wheel speed in mud and 4lo in rough stuff for better control, safety, and comfort.

Don't forget that airing tires down to 15-18psi (for radials) will increase traction siginificantly, as well as improving comfort. It's also easier on parts.

Oh yea i definately hear you on the permission issue, wouldn't want to leave a bad rep for the sport. thanks for the other tips as well, appreciate it.
