Odometer displays "done"

Hi all, I hope the some of you can help me with some insight into a strange problem with my 99 Grand Cherokee 4.0 2WD.

All weekend, it has been hard to start. Seems like my old GC where the fuel system would loose pressure, and it would take longer to start. If it has just been turned off, then it would crank right up. Leave it off for a while, and it would take some time. Anyway, I had planned to have that checked out, thinking it was the fuel pump or some such.

This morning, my wife drives it to work. Once she gets there, she claims the Odometer started displaying the word "DONE" and the car will not attempt to turn over.

Anyone have any ideas before I go to the dealership?

Thanks in advance.[addsig]

It only has about 40K on it now. And it is just a grocery getter for my wife, you know a tall station wagon.[addsig]

This reminds me of an old X-Files were people were seeing messages in ordinary electronic devices.does anyone else remember this one?[addsig]

Try the simple stuff first. Dissconnect the battery for about 5minutes and reconnect. See if it starts or displays done on the odo.[addsig]

Maybe it didn't have the heart to go on as a grocery getter, it wanted to wheel, so it just gave up. It said "I'm Done!"
