Newbie Looking for Advice

I'm a new member who was looking to find some info.

I have an '84 CJ7. It's been garage-kept now for a number of years after I had it restored about eight years ago. It's not been on the road for a couple of years though and I'd like to get it back out just for playing around town.

Since I don't do mechanics myself, I am looking for someone check everything out. I am noticing some dry rot on the hoses and belts. Is there a good reference site somewhere I might find a mechanical who specializes in older Jeeps in the Franklin, Tennessee areas?

Thanks for any advice.

Welcome- I live about 15 min S of you in Spring Hill. Change all the fluids belts and hoses and it has been sitting. I don't know of any CJ specialists in the area, but you might call up to Tennessee Off-Road in Nashville. I think there is a Jeep/Offroad shop in Columbia as well. What exactly are you trying to get done? Are you saying you don't want to do the work it may need?

Thanks for the feedback.

I am wanting to do the work. I'm just not able to do it myself. :)

I've heard of Tennessee Off-Road so might give them a ring early next week. I think hoses, belts and fluids are certainly needed along with a good check.

The shop in Columbia is GREAT!!! They can do anything you want from custom fab work to tires. The name is CUSTOM tinting and Off-Road.
931-381-5466 I was by there the other day, real good bunch of guys.

I just moved up to this area in October. Any know of any clubs or stops to wheel around here?

There were a few smaller places to wheel in Franklin a few years ago but the new offices in Cool Springs cleared most of those out. With so many Jeepz members in the area, we could start our own club. haha
