I have a 99 jgc AOD, 4.0 that has been sitting more than driving due to a popping noise that I thought was coming from the front end. The noise would start at around 55mph. I replaced a damaged rim and put two nice used tires on the front and now the noise starts at around 25mph. Today I put it in 4low and had wife drive slow while I was looking underneath. It seems the noise is coming from the t-case. From what I can tell it has Quadra-trac II. Can I swap with a Selec-trac t-case without any mods? Any thoughts on which way to go? How hard is it to remove?
