New Transmission

So today i finally get my jeep back after it being in the shop for a month getting a new transmission. I had the guy put in a new clutch while he was there because mine was pretty much shot. So he put a new clutch and a new slave cyl. in. The only problem I have is that now my clutch grabs right off the floor and when i let it out for the last half its just like a dead pedal. This is not a problem for me, I prefer to have my clutch grab right off the floor, but the little lady has short legs and can barely reach to push it all the way in. Is there any way to adjust it so my lets out and grabs more evenly?

THANKS

dana 35 complete... reduced price!

I don't think that's normal. Might need to bleed the master cylinder and make sure there's plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Clutch pedal's friction point should be about half way in the "push".

with a hydraulic clutch, there is basically one setting... and that setting is called "working properly"... if it is close to the floor, that is not good, she will wear the clutch out faster by not disengaging it all the way every time... it should start grabbing about half way up, and should start letting go right from the top.. you should not have to push more than half way to shift...

i'd say try bleeding the system completely

Thanks for the input guys, but the problem got resolved. Her dad just bought a '04 rubicon auto and is letting her drive it whenever so she doesn't have to drive my jeep. Now the only problem i have now is that my girl drives a nicer jeep than mine. O Well, ill just have to borrow it from her all the time.

You may get more pedal back the more you drive it, that's happened to me before after reinstalling a transmission.

Just buy the little lady jeeper some of them thick soled Disco Shoes. Open toe of course in several colors and design. tug
