Howdy,
New to the board, and would like a voulunteer. My company makes LED taillights for cars and trucks. We are considering going to JEEPs, but inorder to do so, I need a complete taillight assembly from a wrangler, as well as some information.
The information I need is what model years have the same taillight assemblies, and what year did they change them, etc...
If you are willing to send me a complete assembly, I will make a prototype board for you at a 75% discount of what we'd endup charging for them, i.e. If we'd charge $100 for a pair, I'd only charge you $25. Once I have them done, I'd ship you the assemblies back, as well as your new boards. Please email me @ the address in my signature.[addsig]

What most folks are doing is going with a round flush mount tail light to get it out of harms way. so if you can come up with a way to change them in to a closed unit that will flush mount via a hole sawed in the body with a back up light and a way to light up the tag you will have something. But to just make them a bling bling item you may have the wrong board. Not being harsh just the nature of the beast. Most of the guys here want to make their Jeeps more trail worth rather than flashy. tug[addsig]

Yea, what he said. And also, I think that if you are looking for a volunteer for your lights, then you shouldn't charge anything for a prototype.[addsig]

But, I don't care to be sold to,
before you have been welcomed.

One suggestion to you if you are going to do this. I know someone who has the flush mount LED tail lights and with the flush mounts you no longer have side markers or reverse lights. You need to come up with a kit that will include reverse lights or at least side markers. My friend had to shop around and come up with his own side markers mounted to the side of the jeep almost beside the tail lights....Also, you'd think that a company doing research and development would be able to come up with their own set of tail lights without soliciting people to give them a free set. Sounds like a garage run company to me...or just someone looking for a free set of lights.

It must be that the jeep tail light assemblies are so hard to come by, and lets not forget the special bulbs you have to buy for them. What a bunch of B.S., go peddle your wares along the oceanfront in Arizona. :-) [addsig]

i'm not sure what kind of market there is for jeep LED lights, at least not on this board. we're more hard-core than other boards... check out the lowered jeep sites for that kinda stuff, ya know? i know i wouldn't spend money on LED's...[addsig]
