I got my 31's from Wal-Mart. I was gonna go BFGoodrich but then I noticed the "wal-mart" tires were much much cheaper. They are called LIBERATOR All Terrain and are made by Goodyear.

They have a 40,000 mile tread life warranty and only set me back about $320 for a set of 4. The BFG's were somewhere around like $100 each compared to $77 each for mine. The Liberator tires also have a bit more aggressive tread than BFG's. Here are the BFG's they had for comparison.

I almost got the Super Sport Tires(also made by goodyear)

which are more of a mud terrain tire...they were about $100 a piece but not bad for an MT tire, but I let the clerk talk me out of it...he said they would be loud and would wear out real fast. I kind of wish I had gotten them now though.

This might sound dumb, but which part of a tire listing is the "width"? Ie. is there a difference between the following AT's:

31x10.5R15/C
31x10.5R16.5/D

The answer to the 1st part of your question is the 10.5 is the width 10.5" and the answer to your 2nd is the 1st one fits a 15" wheel 31x10.5x15
and the other fits a 16" wheel 31x10.5x16
I hope that helps...........Bullet[addsig]

Bullet,

Great information. Thanks. What is a LT325/60R15/C AT?

I'm assuming, based on your comments, this tire will fit my 15 inch rims. How do you know the height (ie. 31'') and width (ie. 10.5) of this tire?[addsig]

LT325/60R15/C AT?

325: Section Width in millimeters
(Conversion: 325 mm ÷25.4 = 12.80")

60 :Aspect Ratio
(Conversion: 12.80" X .60 = 7.68" (sidewall height 60% of width)

R: Radial Construction

15: Rim diameter in inches

So this tires is 30.36" in diameter ( 7.68" +15"(Wheel) +7.68) and 12.80" wide!

Hey, glad to see ya, yeah I'm new here too, just signed up today. I saw this site quite a while back but bookmarked it and left. I came back and saw a messageboard, and thought it'd be a good thing to register for.

Jeep messageboards are awesome...I have learned so much and really enjoyed all of the ones I've been on and this one looks like it gets lots of traffic. Awesome! [addsig]
