I've a 2000 Cherokee (that's an XJ, right?), and I am curious about it's exhaust system... It's stock Chrysler exhaust, and on the front of it's muffler, there is a little round hole, facing the catalytic converter... I know that holes in the exhaust are primarily not good, but the reason I ask is because it is a perfect round hole, about the size of a pea, on the bottom of the front of the muffler, almost appears to be there to drain the condensate from the exhaust...
so...
Is this hole supposed to be there, or is it just a freakishly round rust hole that means the muffler is going. It seems to make the jeep a little noisier, not that this particularly matters bombing around up north, but can be a hassle here in SE lower Michigan...
Thanks for any help...
