mp3 driver installation problem

AAAAAW JEEP GIRL

My bro has a Gateway MP3 player model 310. We keep trying to download the driver, but the computer keeps freezing. It has located the software and is attempting to install. This is when it freezes. Any ideas of why it is doing this? We keep trying to get this darn thing to work, and it just won't!

Hi,

Unfortionately, this is a scenario that Windows users (including myself in the past) experience at times. There are many possibilities to the cause of the problem, but it usually comes down to a hardware conflict or a problem with windows itself (usually registry related).

You might try removing all other USB devices before attempting installation. Also, if on a Windows NT/2000/XP computer, be sure you are logged in with administrator access.

In the past though things like this eventually, (after hours of troubleshooting) led me to the common problem solving method of "reinstall windows and pray that it works THIS time" :roll:
