X2 on Johnny's engine oil comment. Quaker State did NOT do that, the owner not changing the oil often enough did that. And that does not happen from just one missed oil change either, someone has a bad habit of not changing their oil which I'd bet big money led to the piston issue too.

Did you end up sleaving the cracked cylinder?

also looking at the head, that is not from a specific type of oil, thats from one type of oil that was left in the motor for WAY too long.

Looks good.

I know that quaker state does gum up an engine, but this was horrible, it was everywhere. And no, the cracked block is probably going to the scrap yard.
