Hello all, new to Jeeping. I have a 1988 Wrongler. Needing to put seats in it that are not twisted to inside of jeep. Any suggestions for straight bolt in or minor mods would be Great. Want to get from salvage yard not from any catalog. Limited spending right now.

Also needing back glass for hard top and some hard doors as well.

Thanks for letting me in the forums.

Welcome to Jeepz, I bet good Wrangler seats are hard to come by in a junkyard. My son had S-10 seats in his CJ-5, they fit it well but they were in it when he bought it. I'm not sure how much work was involved. Maybe Cherokee seats might possibly bolt to your tracks, I'd measure the bolt pattern and see if they'd work.

Google it. I found many lists of direct bolt in seats for my 89 wrangler. Currently using neon svt seats and loving them. Bolted right to stock risers/ sliders. And yes they are not easy to find in a yard but I seem them on cl all the time locally too.

Almost any seat out of a small car will work, I think I have civic seats in mine. If the bolt holes don't line up you can measure the mounting area of the seat bracket and go to tractor supply and buy a small square piece of steal (probably 2'x2') mark the hole locations of your seat on it and drill holes to bolt the seat to, then mark the bracket holes and drill them, bolt the seat to the plate and the plate to the seat bracket sliders. I've had to take off the sliders with one set of seats but, most will be ok. Ive seen people use wood instead of steal but I would think that would rot over time.

Cherokee seats are virtually the same in size so if you can get the sliders to bolt to the seat if the length and width are the same , you've got a variety of color or texture to choose from as cherokee had many to choose from vinyl ( yuk!) to woven cloth ( nice !) . If it's not a go , even with drilling to relocate , yes , you can use what length of steel in the right thickness for strength to locate the new seat(s) in place with just your drill . I like all the previously posted suggestions as they have worked in the past for me in several applications when availability and choice is low. The nice thing about makeshift is that you really can make any seat from any car ( size permitting) fit and you can choose whatever you want in texture , color or options such as power , heat , fore and aft adjustment , the world is yours !
