Monster Garage...

Okay, who watches it? Who wants to see some jeepsters on it? Who hates it?

I like it, but I get a little tired (okay, I watched five hours in a row) of the "Jesse James" showcase.

Admittedly, the guy has a lot of talent, but it gets old fast. And it would help if there was an episode

with jeep on it. Or better yet, some guys who have done some cool mods to jeeps.

Monster Garage is an inspiration to those of us who wouldn't normally think that we can build stuff out of steel. After watching that show I am inspried to go out to the garage grab the ol' MIG welder, grinder, some steel and just make stuff. We have made our own custom light bars for the windshield and are starting to figure out a design for a front bumper/grill guard, all made out of scrap steel lying around. (Also helps to have various other tools such as torch, metal bandsaw, metal chopsaw, hydraulic pipe bender, drill press, ect...

It's the best show I've seen in a long time! I love the way they can come up with something in just a matter of days. Yes, they have more tools and the luxury of a lift, but still it's great to see them all work![addsig]

LOVE IT! Threw a party at a hotel for New Years Eve, and me and all the guys sat and watched Monster Garage while all the girls got themselves begged for attention. First things first!!! They got their attention after the shows

I agree, between gutting the vehicle, cutting with sawzalls and plasma cutters, and doing custom

fabrication on the fly (the adapter for the rear drive shaft of the limo/fire truck was my favorite) it

makes me want to scrounge around for a torch and find a steel supplier. Unfortunately, it will have

to wait till I have some money.

A more refined list of what I'd like to see:

1.) A jeep (any cj, yj, tj) turned in to something... Give it tank treads...

2.) Some jeep owners as part of the crew.

3.) some engine work. Like a project with a chevy S-10 where the 2.8L is too small (aren't they all?)

and so they drop a diesel in. Or to really shake things up, drop in a ford motor <grin>. Give em 10 to

12 days if an engine swap is necessary.

4.) Get some freebies from a manufacturer to turn a semi in to a hybrid (diesel/electric) Makes sense since

electric motors are high torque over a wide range of rpms and diesels have a narrow power band (to drive

the electric generator). The generator(s) (daisy chain?) could take the place of the transmission. And the

back of the cab would have plenty of room for battery storage....
