Meth lab across street from my office...

Some days are more interesting than others.

Today, we saw a police car arrive across the street at a Hotel on the street that the business is located one.

All too soon, police line tape and assorted vehicles started to arrive. A HazMat building was soon put up.

It seems that a meth lab was discovered in one of the rooms.

I got pictures but I'll need to put them up later!

I don't know all the ingredients in meth, but what's up with the HazMat tents. A suit, maybe, but the whole tent?

9NEWS - Local - Article - 2 arrested in meth lab bust at motel
According to the article, both the perps and two cops had to be de-contaminated.

These are the video and a picture that I took.

This link will take you off-site. Yes, it is a video from the FlipVideo that I recently purchased.

And a picture of our parking lot police taped off...

Such excitement! Glad it is over!

The "brewing" of the meth in that room will cost the hotel a HUGE amount of cash to decontaminate the room it was made in. The fumes of the meth while being made will strip varnish from metal and eat paint off the walls. Just look at what it does to the teeth of the users. The walls will have to be rebuilt around the room, studs replaced because the fumes have seeped into the wood. Might have been slightly cheaper if the meth lab blew up.

I watched my stepson destroy his brain on that stuff.

He went to two different rehabs. and never really kicked the habit.

He now sits in an almost catatonic stupor..on medication to keep him from hurting himself or others.

Can't work and can barely function...

People who cook and distribute that stuff have a special place in Hell reserved for them!!!

The ingredients are NASTY. It can leach into vital organs as well as instantly give someone COPD (respiratory disease) in a few days. The clean up is more difficult than the actual manufacturing because of the uncertainty of where everything is at, and what's mixed. Everything about the stuff is teratogenic and can cause brain damage, organ damage, and cancer.

In my clinicals I was doing some hospice rounds, and there was a 12 year old boy who was in an apartment building with a meth lab. They had only been there for a couple of weeks but that was enough to put the kid in the next apartment in end-stage respiratory failure. He was there simply for comfort care and to die as painlessly as possible. It was very sad.

Just so everyone knows, there was no meth lab set up nor had one been setup. Chemicals for the manufacture of meth were found both in the room and in the stolen car the perps were driving.

Although, both the perps and two police officers did need to be de-contaminated.

BTW - The Cameron Motel has something of a reputation. The rest of the neighborhood is OK.

I overheard some sheriffs talking about a couple that they busted the night before. Apparently, while the man & woman were smoking meth & pot, they were intentionally blowing the smoke into their baby's face. Are these people screwed up or what?
