lower ball joint

Replacing a lower (pax side) ball joint.... 2003 jeep liberty 3.7l. Manuals i have tell you to remove the wheel hub, one of the Hub bolts is completely rounded. Just curious before I get started on the rounded hub bolt and seperating the Knuckle from the upper and lower arms and tie rod end.... Will the steering knuckle come off with the wheel hub attached

I usually leave the upper ball joint on. The spin the whole knuckle and hub around and two smashes with a hammer and out they come.

Thanx for info, have never replaced a ball joint on a jeep.... wasnt sure you could clear the axle to spin the knuckle

You just undo the axle nut and slide it out of the hub.

Thanx for the info... much easier then the repair manual led me to believe
