Low oil pressure

I noticed today that my oil pressure was at 30 when I'm at idle and 40 when I'm on the gas. I checked the oil and it needed a little so i filled it up and it was still the same. Is my oil pump screwed or is it something else??

Man my oil pressure is so low I just tell myself that it is a faulty gauge and go on! hehehehe Tug

ha ya all of my gauges never stop moving they just bounce around so they're barely helpful.

while making some camoflage gauge overlays, my accomplice broke my oil pressure needle off... i never have to see what crazy stuff it's doing

Mine is about 20 when warm and idling and 40 when on the highway. I have worried about it too, but its been that way for a year and haven't had any engine seizure!

i took apart my oil sensor when i bought my YJ used and it was wired all wrong. cept mine was at 0 on idle, and off the guage on the gas..

haha i have that same problem u do but mine is worse i can idle around all day with about 3psi of pressure but after i drive it for an hour or too at wide open on the high way and come to a stop i get about 3psi, once in a while i drop to 0 and my check gauges light comes on.
I checked this out with a few people and did some investigating on my own and i found that it could be either my oil pump is starting to krap out or i got badly worn bearings
