Lifted my xj tonight!!!!!!

I finally lifted my XJ. I went out to JCwhitney and picked up a 3 inch rough country and a set of Hekethorn shocks and went to town. Now it's sitting a lot taller and a lot meaner looking. Now it's how i want it, i think it rides better then new. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Cool, that's a good lift kit. What'd ya get it for? What year is your XJ?

It's a 92. Total with tax was $220.00 that's everything...i though it was a decent deal

Pinaplebob, What size tire are you going to put under that lift? I need to put new shoes on my XJ and now might be the time to do a small lift also before I buy the tires. I want to run 31". My friend has a thing from 4 wheeler's magazine that says 31" will fit under a stock XJ... I have heard otherwise... Could I throw the 31"s on there and lift it later? I won't be doing any off roading in the mean time. Thoughts?

I wouldn't run 31" tires with no lift, they'll rub bigtime. Do the inexpensive lift first, it'll look fine with the smaller shoes.

ive been researching tire sizes on XJ's a lot lately, and it seems like 30's will fit with minimal rubbing on a stock XJ- but remember that just cuz they fit isn't good- its better to have slightly smaller tires and more travel... so if i were u id get the lift then the tires--or if u are set on tires then get the tires and a cheap as spacer'shackle lift..but don't keep the shackles permanently because they can snap

Thanks guys.....It finally looks good in my eye. I must say that it rides better then before. No vibrations, no anything. The only time i can tell that it is lifted while driving is getting in and out.

um as far as how it lifts?.....

It's new front springs in the front

with new leafs and blocks in the back.

and all new shocks all around.

Still need to get around to gettting boots for it. The shocks for some reason didn't come with any. Looks like i need to take another trip to jcwhitney. Oh well.

really? i always figured it was the other way around. So not having boots is better then having boots? is that what your telling me? I was wondering about road salt and sand and all that fun stuff? but i can see where your coming from.
