Leaking transmission cooler line

1990 Cherokee 4.0. The old girl has developed a leak at the quick disconnect fitting coming out of the lower part of the radiator, drivers side. It's just a piece of hose about 2 feet long, quick disconnect on one end and a couple of hose clamps on the other (hard line going to the oil cooler). I've searched everywhere looking for a replacement hose........found one on some Chrysler website for $75!!?!?!?! I'm thinking I'll just disconnect the quick disconnect, cut the hose, slide it back over the "dimple", and secure it with a couple of hose clamps. Anyone see anything wrong with this?

My old '88 s-10 pickup has been running that way for 5 years now.
It should work fine. To be honest, I am not familiar with your Jeep, but
I can vouch for others working fine.
Good luck.
I am sure others on this site, can tell you better than I.

Thanx, Tison, I think I'll give 'er a try. Shouldn't be much difference being it's a Jeep other than perhaps access issues. I'm about to find out. Looks like the hardest part is going to be getting the tool on the disconnect. Everyone has the hoses/lines back to the transmission but nobody's got/makes this simple little hose. I can only assume it's 'cause everybody just eliminates the disconnect.
