Knocking/rattling

Hey guys,

I have a loud knocking/rattling underneath. You can hear it knock once when you start her up than gone. When I go over a bump road is when you can here the major rattling/knocking. I tried to locate it but can’t seem to find it. When I drive on a smooth road or even go over a speed bump nothing. Turning nothing. Any clues?

I would bet it's the exhaust, however, it's extremely difficult to diagnose a sound over the net. But, that's where I'd start looking. On startup, the engine torquing around will rattle the exhaust against things underneath, and that would also occur on bumpy roads.

I would tend to agree with Sparky on this one. Try pulling on your exhaust left and right In some different locations.

I had a bad knock on startup and it was a loose starter, was about to fall out.

My rattle over bumps was different, bad control arm bushings.
