killer driveline angle

I took over a project jeep to make a long story short, it was a 92 yj 4.0 with a ax15 and 231 case when I got it it was apart and in the middle of an automatic trans swap( 93 yj auto trans) it now has bds 3inch springs dana 44s out of a wagoneer and 6 inch shackles so the rear drive shaft would need to be 21 inch but the angle is over 45 degrees!!! it had a sye installed but it isnt very short so I installed a JB conversions mega short which helped but I'm still at 40 degrees,it also has a 9th degree belly up pan which for some reason hits the t-case unless I shim the trans mount 1 inch ..... bottom line is I dont want to drop the case down (what would be the point of the belly up pan ) and I'm on a limited buget so a high pinion rear is out of the ? unless there someone knows of a wrecking yard donor that would be inexpensive .... any Ideas would be great .... I feel like tearing out my remaining hair HELP:cry:

HP rear is not a great Idea, you will be driving on the coast side of the gears and is not a ideal situation. if the perches are not welded on the tube, with everything mocked up, but unwelded, point the pinion straight at the rear output on the t-case. then bring it down 2-4 degree's, should be fine. you don't want a realy radical pinion angle because the oil slinger will ont be in the oil and you will burn up pinion bearings faster than I burn singles at the peelers club :D

Sounds like you're spring-over, I'd lose the 3" springs in favor of stock height springs, problem solved. What would you need 9"+ of lift for anyway?

You might take a look at Tom Wood's BAMF CV Joint at:

actually its not a spring over lol which is why I'm pulling my hair out..... now this BAMF shaft how is it at highway speeds ? planning on driving for 3 days to Moab :D if I get this thing done in the pic you can kind of see hoe close the t-case is to the pan and thats shimmed up 3/4 inch

The angle shouldn't be that much with only 3" springs set up SUA, have you rotated the rear axle pinion upward to where it's pointing directly at the transfer case yoke?

I run the mega-short SYE on my YJ with 1" springs and SOA, granted I have a 4banger and the stock belly skid but my angle is probably 20º or less.
