keyless entry programming

Does anyone know how to disable the horn chirp that happens when using the keyless entry to lock the doors on a 2005 Liberty Limited ?

I have tried following the instructions in the owners manual, and have had no luck in getting them to work. It still chirps. The instructions work for disabling or enabling all other functions, but not the "chirp".

It's annoying when instructions don't produce the desired result.

Ha,.... found it. You have to press and hold the "Lock" for 4 seconds,... the press the "panic" button,... release both simultaneously and no more freaking "chirp". The manual is wrong !
