JGCH broken 4x4, tie rods broke....

transmission going, headlight missing, dented bumper, should I sell this car to an online site for $1,000? I am over this car and it will cost me upwards of 3,000 to fix it.

That's really not bad. Fix it!

50 bucks per tie rod at oreily auto, head lights are cheap, dented bumper just adds class. the most expensive part is the transmission and most placed would rebuild it for 1000 to 1500. So really if you are getting quoted 3 grand to fix it then your getting ripped off. i say 1700 and you get everything fixed if you do it yourself

Depending on your level of mechanical capabilities have a shop do the transmission and the rest is easy stuff... I agree $3000 sounds pricey but some shop rates will kill you.. or if you have a buddy that knows what he's doing grab a case of beer and help him wrench on the heep and learn something.

I am going to do it myself. I will keep you all updated and ty for welcoming me in this forum.

My gf's dad works on ambulances and may help me with the transmission but doesn't like to work on personal cars after greasing it up every day.
