Jeep liberty 2002 front drive shaft

i need to replace the front drive shaft on my 2002 jeep liberty 4w drive however i dont have the money right now to do it , can i remove the drive shaft and drive it like that for awahile will it hurt anything to do that

I'm not sure where you are located, but a driveshaft at my local pick and pull (junk yard) is only $37
