jeep cherokee starting problems

I have a 94 cherokee 4ltr limited which when in park refuses to turn over or start, when in neutral the engine turns but she wont start. I have just replaced spark plugs and distributor cap. any one with any ideas I would be most grateful.:?|

Clean or replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission.

no it didnt work but after replacing a transformer in the power distrubution centre problem almost dissappeared. :mrgreen:

transformer? a fuse or relay? i'm confused...what does almost dissapear mean?

That reminds me of a guy I work with, he "fix" this truck and it came back with the same problem, and he said, and I quote, "I guess the repair didn't take." Well, that repair didn't take and neither did the 4 repairs after it. He is a fonzanoon.

hi by transformer i mean relay and now my jeep doesnt start in park on the very rare occation. se always starts in neutral though.
